Help ACR Fight Hunger

At ACR Supply Company, we believe that we have a higher purpose beyond selling HVAC/R goods and services to our valued customers.  We hold a strong conviction that our company resources can be used to also make a difference in our surrounding communities.  With this in mind, we have developed an internal initiative within our company called ACR Cares.

ACR Cares

ACR Cares Mission Statement: “To honor God by showing His love and mercy to the ACR Family and our community through caring in everyday life.”

Our internal ACR Cares Team meets on a regular basis to identify ways that our company can make a difference in people’s lives – both internally and externally.  Since its creation, ACR Cares has partnered with several organizations, including: Ronald McDonald House, Roc Solid Foundations, Operation Resolute, Human Coalition, and has also helped with funding for the ACR Cares orphanage in Burkina Faso, Africa.

Fighting Hunger in NC

The most recent initiative that our ACR Cares Team has identified is the need to fight hunger, which has become more of a widespread problem across North Carolina.  While many of us can easily take the food we eat for granted, there are thousands of people in our communities (especially children and seniors) who struggle with food insecurity issues every day.  According to several studies, somewhere between 25 – 33% of children in North Carolina do not get enough food to thrive.

The COVID-19 pandemic has only intensified this problem, so we realized that there is no better time for ACR Supply to join the fight against hunger in North Carolina.

New Partnerships

Since we have many store locations across North Carolina, our ACR Cares Team decided that we would partner with two food banks that could cover all the areas and communities that ACR serves.  Both organizations are affiliate members of Feeding America, which is our nation’s leading domestic hunger relief charity.

    • The Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina (the Food Bank) is a nonprofit organization that has provided food for our friends and neighbors facing hunger in 34 counties in central and eastern North Carolina for 40 years.
    • Second Harvest Food Bank of NWNC provides immediate access to food to our neighbors in need across 18 counties, as we pursue an end to hunger through outreach, education, and advocacy since 1982.

Here’s How You Can Help

ACR will be hosting a food drive at each of our nine locations during the months of July and August of 2021.

Please bring the following non-perishable items to any of our ACR locations, and they will be delivered to a food bank each week:

  • General Food Items
      • Canned fruits & vegetables, canned meat, canned beans & soup, cereal, whole grain pasta & rice, peanut butter, etc.
  • Hygiene Items
      • Toothbrushes & toothpaste, soaps, hair care, deodorants, etc.
  • Household Items
      • Cleaning supplies, laundry detergents, paper towels, toilet paper, etc.
  • Infant & Child Items
      • Diapers, wipes, Pedialyte, infant cereal, fruit cups, granola bars, mac & cheese cups, crackers, juice boxes, etc.
  • Senior Items

On behalf of the entire ACR Family, I would like to personally thank you for your continued support of our company and all of our ACR Cares initiatives.  We consider ourselves very fortunate to have the provision and resources for helping the greater good in our communities.
